In terms of tourism Kotayk region has a great potential  as it stores about 3208 historical and cultural monuments – stone age stations, pre – man caves, Bronze age tombs, cyclopean castles. 25 monasteries of the region are under the protection of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The favourite tourist attraction Geghard monastery  is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In 2020 as well there will be a great flow of tourists to the region, as it is very close to Yerevan and the prices are quite affordable.
